Crazymaker - "Mere days after this slapping and curving 3-grrl power-punk essay arrived broke bad/good news: The band had given up the leggy ghost, but Kate and Emma are forging ahead with a new bass player. "Somewhat of a continuation," Kate says. Til then, put this on, strap yourself in, and wave so long to innocence. Recommended "Red Lips," "I Am a Slut" --DC

Crazymaker - "I picked up this album because of the title and its reference to the movie (non-porno) that Sasha Gray did. I was surprised to find out that women were behind such song titles as “Zombie Heart,” “Blood Bath,” and “Scream.” These songs seemed to be a move out of The Mapes’ playbook. It’s refreshing to know that women have a sense of humor dirtier than mine and just about as on par with The Mapes in terms of pushing the limits of decency. Take their tune “Pregnant Again” and its opening lyrics: “Oh no, I think I’m pregnant again. I really don’t want another abortion.” Musically, the best comparison I can make to a band other than The Mapes would be The Runaways. I don’t think the tunes on this album have the mass market, instant classic appeal that tunes like “Cherry Bomb” has, but not many songs do. These women are willing to take their sexuality where even Jett would fear to tread. The funniest song on the CD is “I’m a Slut.” It’s sort of like a Grease musical number,
but replace the PG cast singing about an innocent high school fling with the women from The XGirlfriend Experience taking it to an X-rated sex-capade. I must lead a sheltered life because I don’t know women this brash, but, hey, at least I have the CD to prove they exist." --N.L. Dewart

Crazymaker - "In Las Vegas, it isn’t rare to see women glorified for nothing but looks; however, the members of The XGirlfriend Experience show that talented women in Vegas can make a name for themselves, solely based on their music. The all-girl group formed in the legendary and former New York Cafe in Las Vegas, when drummer and vocalist Emmalition Derby (Emma) mentioned she could play the drums and Ruby Scruffs (Brookelyn) responded by saying she was a guitar player, and XGFE was born when bassist Kate78 proved to be the missing link the band needed. Signed onto Unrepentant Records, the band released their debut, full-length album "Crazymaker" on December 19th, 2009 ranking up there with fellow female punk bands such as The Runaways and L7.
The XGirlfriend Experience proves to be an appropriate name for this group, seeing as most of the songs off "Crazymaker" employ women power or satirical, man-bashing qualities. Their sing-a-long anthem-potential tracks seem to carry these characteristics the most; namely "Scream", "Red Lips", "Zombie Heart", "Pregnant Again" and the incredibly witty song "I Am A Slut". Although XGFE’s "Crazymaker" includes a great deal of raunchy, high energy tracks, the band displays the ability to range to a slower pace with "Johnny Walker Black", "Honey Baby", "Tsunami" and "Cold Cold Heart", illustrating comparable traits to the legendary band X-Ray Spex.
"Crazymaker" starts with a high note and finishs the exact same way, with controversy, feminism, and problems with men all thrown in between. Based on this album and the amount of notable bands they’ve opened for (The Muffs, The Adicts, Agent Orange, and Nerf Herder), The XGirlfriend Experience displays awareness, intelligence, passion and volatile energy through kickass music, making them a band on the rise that one should definitely keep under their radar." --Sarah K.
